Our technical team will conduct a survey of the given site at the commencement and completion of work. Benchmarks will be established to ensure the area is cleaned and grubbed.
After a technical study of the SOW and a site visit, a team will conduct a market survey to determine the market prices for materials and services required for the project. This ensures that the price assessment is competitive and reasonable.
Every possible measure will be adopted to ensure the security of staff, machinery, and equipment at our own risk and cost. Our staff will coordinate with local authorities to obtain daily security and law and order information, enabling us to plan security measures accordingly.
Mobilization will occur after site assessment and arrangement of a secure and safe place for coordination and storage.
The site will be cleaned to avoid any disturbance to the construction process. The work site perimeter will be cleaned and grubbed. Unskilled labor equipped with picks and shovels will perform the cleaning, with light machinery used if necessary.
All equipment, materials, and articles incorporated into the work will be new and of the most suitable grade for the intended purpose, according to the specifications and codes outlined in the contract.
Our engineering team will conduct a proper site assessment for project implementation and collect all necessary measurements and data from the site.
The excavation will be done along the profile with the specified width and depth. The bottom level of the excavation for the foundation of reinforced concrete will be properly leveled. The foundation excavation will extend an adequate distance from both sides to allow for placing and removing forms. Surface water will be directed away from the excavation to prevent erosion and undermining the foundation by constructing diversion ditches.
Grading will be done after excavation of the foundation. The sub-grade will be compacted soil at 95%.

Concrete is composed of coarse aggregate, cement, and water. Cement acts as the binding material. Rock chips are used as coarse aggregate, while sand is used as fine aggregate. Cement is the binding material for the ingredients of concrete. Ordinary Portland cement is used in Afghanistan, and Pakistan-made cement has given good results and is widely used. Cement is generally tested before use, and the tests include:
Water for mixing concrete should be free from impurities and clean.
The ratio of cement, sand, and aggregate is expressed by volume. The strength of concrete depends on this ratio. Common ratios are 1:3:6, 1:2:4, and 1:1:5. For high strength, a 30 cm width (volume 1.25 ft. of 0.035375 m) is considered. Due to the bulking of sand, the volume of sand should be adjusted accordingly. For 25% bulking of sand, the volume of sand to be considered would be 1.25 times the original volume.
The strength of concrete depends on the water-cement ratio, calculated based on the weight of water and cement. The amount of water should be such that the fresh concrete is workable, and the hardened concrete can withstand the desired loads. Excess water decreases the strength of concrete.
For example, if the water-cement ratio is 0.55, then water will be 0.55 * 50 kg = 27.5 liters.
– For smaller quantities, mixing will be done by hand. For larger quantities, a mixing machine may be used.
– The mixture should be homogeneous.
– 5-10% of the total volume of water should be added to the turning drum before cement, sand, and aggregate are applied.
After mixing, the concrete should be carried to the specified site as quickly as possible. All mixed concrete should be placed in its final position within 45 minutes. Mixed concrete should be placed at a height of 1 meter. Excess water should not be added while placing or vibrating the concrete.
Concrete should be compacted by means of vibration. This can be done by poking concrete with rods or using a vibrator. All vibration should be completed before the initial setting time. In the absence of a vibrator, a 16 mm diameter rod can be used as a vibrator.
Curing increases the strength of concrete. Cement contains chemicals that require hydrolysis for a chemical reaction to form a rock-like substance. This reaction takes place over 21 to 28 days, so curing of concrete is required for 28 days. Curing is done by spreading water on the concrete surface or covering it with wet sacks to prevent evaporation. It generally starts after 16 to 24 hours of casting.

Concrete can resist compression but not tension. For this reason, reinforcing rods are provided in concrete to sustain tension. The reinforcement material includes high-strength steel wire, mild steel, and high-strength plastic fibers.
